Incomplete clinical notes older than 30 days are showing

Dentrix Ascend developers are aware that the initial release of the Incomplete Clinical Notes feature revealed the entire history of unsigned notes, which could be thousands, rather than the intended past 30 days. This and other issues will be addressed in the upcoming weeks with the next release.

Incomplete clinical notes do not include secondary providers

The Incomplete Clinical Notes feature does not take into account secondary providers who are required to sign clinical notes, so for that secondary provider, those clinical notes will not appear as needing signatures from that provider. There is not a short term work around for this issue, but a resolution has been identified and is scheduled to be implemented with the next update.

Oh, and by the way...my 7,000 number keeps changing every time I look at it, but I have not done anything to any of the patients on that list to resolve anything.

Not sure how to efficiently clean that up but to fix that in the future I would post all product sales to a non clinical provider. We have one called SALE. We do this because it doesn't make sense to pay the doctors a % of product sales as we sell products near cost.

Yes, I noticed the same thing.  Frankly, I just ignore it and set the filters to just show me unsigned notes.  The problem obviously is that the system is requiring a note for every procedure during an appt. and not just a note for the appt.  Perhaps in the future there will be a way to 'turn off' the note requirement for things like selling whitening gel, or electric toothbrushes and other miscellaneous codes.

Also, I noticed that if the hygienist have a DDS checked as an additional provider then that DDS will be expected to enter a note.  So, for routine hyg appts and exams I have them uncheck that additional provider box.

It is not perfect yet for sure but I really like the updates to the clinical notes feature.  In the end, if you were audited by an insurance company and you explain to them how the system works and why you have un-entered notes for some things they would be OK with it... as long as your treatment notes are entered and signed.

Yes, seems to be all my hygiene patients.  The notes were created by the hygienist not me... Not sure what to do about it

I contacted support and apparently they are working on it.  I was told that ETA is early to mid June.  In the meantime just a heads up....if your hyg enters a note and makes you secondary provider...it no longer goes to your unsigned box.

Thanks for the heads up about secondary provider notes not coming to our unsigned box.  That is a big deal, as I want to sign off on all my hygienist's notes!

Has anyone had issues with it showing as Not entered even though the Dr. and Hygienist have both signed their notes?  We just switched to Ascend and today is the first time one of my doctors is using the software.  He has TX plans that were done from hygiene that are showing up as Notes Not Entered.  -Thank you

The "not entered" note section of my dashboard is beyond useless and is extremely frustrating.  My dashboard shows that I have 250 not entered notes in the last 30 days.  95% of these "not entered" notes are hygiene patients that in fact do have a note entered and signed by them.  These notes have never shown up in my "not signed" section for me to sign and instead make it impossible to actually tell if there are notes that genuinely need to be entered still.

The "OFFICIAL COMMENT"  says that it will be corrected in the NEXT update!  A year and 4 months later still there is no fix.
