Dentrix Ascend allows you to include this information. You can set up default wording, which can be modified for individual patients.

To add a procedure code to a prescription:

    1. Go to Settings > Prescriptions. You will be working in the Controlled substance category. Select a prescription to edit, or click Add New Prescription.
    2. In the Sig edit box, add the following text, replacing ‘#’ appropriately.
                     Procedure Code: #####
Number of Days’ Supply: ## days
Use a procedure code that is most commonly the reason for the prescription, and the number of days’ supply typically prescribed.
    3. When the prescription is used for a patient, edit the procedure code if needed. The number of days’ supply shouldn’t change unless the number to dispense is changed.
The printed prescription will look something like this:

For questions on how to implement these steps, contact Dentrix Ascend Support at 855-232-9493, option 2.
