How do you integrate a exisiting patient into a new household?
I am having difficulty integrating an existing patient into a new household. I keep getting an error message.

To integrate an existing patient into a new household, you would first need to create the new household with at least the individual that will be the primary contact for that household. Once the household is created, navigate to the existing patients information, select the related patients link on the left hand column, and then click edit for the primary contact. Type in the name of the primary contact for the household that was newly created and then click on that name in the results drop down window to select. Click save.

Just ran into an issue setting the primary contact of a married couple as "self" for both parties. Ascend removed the family relationship! We made this change because the wife's phone number would show up at the top of the husband's patient information page. Adults need to have their own phone number show up on their file, and still be part of the same family. Is there a way to set this up?

Patients are seen as related if they share a Primary Contact or Primary Guarantor. If both adults want to get their own reminders then make them their own Primary Contact. The Primary Guarantor is the person in the family who wants to receive the billing statements. If they both want their own billing statements then you can use the Add Secondary Guarantor or Add Secondary Contact to show them as related. The Secondary contact will not receive any appointment reminders and the Secondary Guarantor will not receive any billing statements it is just a way to show them as related.
