We expect this to be included with the custom reports, which should start being available within a few months.

As a workaround until the new custom reporting feautre is added, try this:

    1. From the Home menu, click Letters.
    2. Expand the Miscellaneous section, and then select Year End Treatment (With Insurance).
    3. Click Copy Template, give it a name like "Patients and Insurance," and then click Save.
    4. Now with that new template selected, click the Edit Text tab.
    5. Remove the entire text of the letter, and then insert the following 3 merge fields separated by something like a comma and/or a space: "Patient Last Name," "Patient First Name," and "Primary Insurance Plan Name".

    6. Click Save.
    7. Click Create Recipient List.
    8. When the list appears, click Print Selected.
    9. A PDF of the list should appear in a new tab of your browser. While viewing that PDF, press Ctrl + f on your keyboard, type all or part of the insurance plan name, and then press Enter.

    10. The first match is highlighted with the patient name next to it. Click the next arrow to find the next patients with that insurance plan.

OK so I am trying to delete a carrier also.  I have gone through all of the steps to delete including removing the provider associated with the plan, deleting the fee schedule associated with the plan, etc.  This is new so I only had a couple of families attached.  Everyone has been removed and I still cannot remove the carrier.  I did the above "workaround" option and nothing comes up so what am i missing?

In the Custom Reporting section of Dentrix Ascend, we now have a report called, "Analysis - Patient Insurance". I believe this should satisfy the original question. Give it a try - I'd love to get feedback on all aspects of the Custom Reporting feature.

We now have a report under Power Reporting called Patient Insurance Report.  This will give you the following information.

Under power reporting there is a report called Patient List. When in the report you can click on the toggle edit link at the top right which will bring up a list of things you can add to the report. Scroll down to the bottom where you will see "Patient Primary Ins Plan". Right click on "Pat. Prim. Carrier">choose filter>edit the field that says "Exactly Matches" to "Is null">click okay to apply. The report should now show patients that don't have a primary insurance. If you need further assistance than please contact our support line at 855-232-9493 opt. 2.
