There are many reasons to follow up with a patient. They may have had a difficult procedure today; they may have just been referred to an oral surgeon for an extraction; or you simply need some insurance information from them. Whatever the reason, the important thing is that you have a way to stay organized and track these follow-up calls.

- It’s always a great idea to add a note to the appointment indicating any additional information about the follow up, such as tooth number or details about the nature of the follow up needed.
- If the patient needs additional follow-up, simply add your notes to the appointment note on the follow-up list. Don’t click the checkbox to complete the follow-up until no additional follow up is needed. The patient will stay on the list until it is completed.
