What about syncing the image database after hours into the cloud? Of course, that would be the prerogative of the image software. Therefore, duplicate or more image data depending on how many office suites there are for a practice. The problem is that otherwise a multi office practice would have one ascend database but multiple image databases..

Another possibility is that if needed images could be viewed or downloaded as low resolution, unless specific ones were requested at normal/high quality. They should be stored at normal/high resolution.

    Hello Gordon,

Thanks again for the feedback.  Those are all great ideas when it comes down into having an imaging system purely on the cloud.  In the future we'll be implementing a system like that. In the meantime, we are using the current digital imaging software in today's market and linking it to Dentrix Ascend through a bridge software.

How about instead of focusing on specific bridge methods, a system is designed in which administrators can input the requirements for the software they are using. There are really only two types of bridge, file-based or pure command line. Allow users to select which type and what data is passed and in what format. For instance Apteryx is pure command line. Call the Apteryx exe with /p and then customer data in a certain order. Dexis is file-based. Write customer data to a text file and call the exe with the path to the text file as an argument. I'm sure you are already aware of how these things work, but if you make the interface fully configurable you'll be able to help a wider range a people.

Are there any plans to create a bridge to the desktop version of Apteryx's XrayVision?  There are dozens of OEM'ed versions of this software that could benefit from this.
