The Dentrix Ascend development team has been working on an innovative solution for digital image bridging. A cloud to desktop bridge will let users click on a button in Ascend, which will open up the imaging software on their local machine and call up the patient’s file.
To make this work your office will need to install a file on your local machines where imaging software is installed. It will work whether the imaging database is on a single desktop or in server in your local area network.
Your imaging files won't be stored in the cloud, but you will be able to call up patient images without having to search for the patient account in two different systems.
If there are images that you want to store on the cloud you can export them out of your imaging software and upload them to the Dentrix Ascend document center. This would be especially useful for storing insurance attachments. However, Ascend won’t provide any of the image manipulation and enhancement tools provided by your digital imaging software.
So far we have been working with Dexis and Planmeca, but we have it on our roadmap to bridge to other systems. Let us know which digital imaging bridges you would like us to prioritize.
